North Vietnam Cycle Holiday

Upon arrival Hanoi today you will be met Viet Prestige travel’s tour guide at the airport and transferred to the hotel for check in. The remainder of the day is at leisure to start exploring Hanoi by yourself.

Following breakfast at the hotel, visit President Ho Chi Minh’s complex, starting at the President’s Mausoleum. Continue to his humble “house on stilts”, see the French colonial Presidential Palace from outside and the 11th century One Pillar Pagoda. Transfer to the Ethnology Museum which gives an excellent overview of the country’s ethnic groups. The large outdoor area features genuine houses and compounds as built by the many different ethnic groups.
In the afternoon you will have time on cyclo tour around Hanoi’s vibrant Old Quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake, the focal point of the city. Afterwards, go to see a performance of Hanoi’s famous water puppet theater. Water Puppet Theatre was traditionally performed during the monsoon months when rice farming was not possible, becoming a very popular and beloved art form for local people, with the stories reflecting life in the Red River Delta. After breakfast, set off on a scenic drive towards the idyllic rural area of Mai Chau. The Mai Chau area is home to the White Thai and Hmong people and is known for its picturesque scenery of brilliant green rice paddies, mountains, farmland and traditional stilt houses. We arrive at our homestay village of Poom Cong at around noon, check in to our homestay and enjoy lunch in our peaceful surroundings. In the afternoon, hop on our bikes and head out to explore the local ethnic minority villages of Lac and Na Phon, where we can enjoy the pretty scenery, shop for local handicrafts and learn more about the culture and daily life of the local people. We’ll then ride back to our homestay where we will be free to relax or stroll through Poom Cong village before dinner.

Today is an exciting day as we will get to experience village life with a day of trekking and cycling through local villages and stunning scenery. We begin the day with a cycle ride after which we hop off our bikes and continue on foot. As we cycle, our dirt track undulates through beautiful landscapes of rice paddies, rural countryside, stilt houses and villages. We pass through the villages of Na Mon and Phay, arriving at Pung village where we have lunch with a local family. After a short rest, we continue our trek through peaceful countryside. Each the main road in the afternoon where our driver will be waiting to transfer us back to Mai Chau. Tonight our dinner will be followed by a live performance of traditional music by local musicians.

Following breakfast, bid farewell to the all the members of the family and thanks for their hospitality. Leave Mai Chau, head out to Ninh Binh. Make a stop for you to enjoy the ride on quiet and peaceful back roads on the way to Cuc Phuong National Park. Arrive to Khanh village of Muong ethnic minority people where you will spend the night here. This will be an unforgettable experience as you could explore the lifestyles of local people here and enjoy the local dishes.

After breakfast, start hike along the jungle trail to Cuc Phuong National Park. On the way, you will have chance to hear and watch a lot of birds. Enjoy the picnic lunch and continue hike to Bong, where your vehicle pick you up and transfer to National Park headquarter. In the afternoon, visit the Information Center, and stroll around the Endangered Primate Rescue Centre. Overnight at Cuc Phuong National Park.

An early morning take a short biking in the park to Nguoi Xua cave in CucPhuong national park (15 km) then heading out of Ninh Binh Town we embark on a boat trip in Trang An, passing through the picturesque landscape of rice fields surrounded by limestone formations with magnificent caves. The afternoon we pedal south to visit. Overnight in NinhBinh.

In the morning depart for Ha Long. Upon arrival, embark on the traditional junk and start with the cruise to explore the beauty of the Gulf of Tonkin. Enjoy a freshly prepared lunch while cruising through the Bay. In the afternoon, kayaking before swimming, sunbathing or relaxing at the boat. Dinner will be served with authentic Vietnamese cuisines. Relax and enjoy the evening or choose from a variety of activities including board games and squid fishing.

Wake up early with the weaves of the bay, enjoy the fresh atmosphere before breakfast. Then continue to explore the world natural heritage dotted with some thousands of rock formations of Halong Bay. The boat moors at the harbor and transfer back Hanoi, overnight in Hanoi.
