Beauty of Angkor

Meet upon arrival at Siem Reap airport, you’ll be picked up and transfer to check-in at your hotel. Free leisure at your own. Dinner with Apsara dancing performance at local restaurant. Overnight at hotel in Siem Reap.

Following breakfast, visit the antique capital of Angkor Thom: the South Gate, the Bayon with 54 towers, each carved with four faces of the compassionate Boddhisattva, the nearby temple-mountain of Baphuon, the Royal Enclosure with the Phimeanakas temple, the Elephants Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King, lunch at local restaurant.
In the afternoon, visit Angkor Vat (early-mid 12th century) dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu. This huge temple-mountain, built by King Suryavarman II, is considered as the masterpiece of Khmer architecture and art. Sunset from Phnom Bakeng Hill, offering an outstanding view over Angkor. This morning we take a short transfer to foot of the Phnom Kulen Hills, a sacred place where many Khmers like to hang out in the weekends, passing through local villages and field’s en-route. Also, home to a waterfall where a refreshing dip will no doubt be appreciated. From here, trek east to Svay Leu Pagoda, passing through Cambodia’s pristine jungle. Cycle south on less used roads to Beng Mealea, a relatively unexplored temple: a huge, sprawling complex that is an explorer’s dream as most of the temple is covered in jungle and the crowds are nowhere to be seen. Continue back to Siem Reap for dinner and overnight in Siem Reap.

After breakfast, drive to visit the famous temple of Bantey Srey “the Citadel of Women”. This small pink sandstone temple (late 10th century) is considered as the crown jewel of classical Khmer art with the delicate beauty of its carvings. Continue to Bantey Samre (mid 12th century), which has been admirably restored. Lunch at local restaurant.
In the afternoon, for take a boat trip and enjoy the wonderful view of Tonle Sap – the largest lake in Asia. Visit the local fishing communities and experience the floating villages. Return to Siem Reap. En route if time permit, stop at the “Chantiers-Ecole, Les Artisans d’Angkor”, a vocational training center, which revives the classic Cambodian techniques and styles of wood and stone carving and polychromy. Then stroll through the Old Market. Overnight in Siem Reap.

After breakfast, free at leisure until your driver pick up then transfer to Siem Reap airport for your departure flight.
